  • Stand Up to Bullying

Stand Up to Bullying was created to educate, motivate and empower young people to actively promote social change in their schools and communities. The Stand Up to Bullying New Hampshire program was developed by a community coalition of  organizations who worked in partnership with renowned bullying prevention authorities to ensure the most effective messaging and call to action for students and their educators. Stand Up to Bullying utilizes a combination of educational information, entertainment and special recognition to motivate students to stand up to bullying in their schools and communities.

STAND UP, a program of Empower Peace was started in 2011. The kick-off STAND UP event took place on  December 4, 2011 at Matthews Arena in Boston, Massachusetts. Over 4,000 students and teachers from across Massachusetts attended the event. In 2012, STAND UP moved to the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts. Over 5,000 students and teachers participated. In 2013, events were held in New Hampshire at the Whittemore Center and in Massachusetts at the DCU Arena in Worcester. Over 8,000 people attended the two events.
